CRX
UK club is an internet based owners club for all generations
of the Honda CRX that are based in the United Kingdom and the
Republic of Ireland.
We have a forum you can join that will allow you to chat with
the other members of the club. We have over 600 members,
all who are willing to help out with any problems or questions
you may have. We also reguarly meet up and organise activites
and trips for all the members.
There
is no fee to join, just sign up with our Forum webpage at: /forum
There
are not that many specific rules:
- Try
to keep the topic on a CRX/Honda/Car theme.
-
Don't join up just to try and sell us your services. If it
is regarding a product or service for our cars then send one
message and leave it at that.
- Be
polite and respect other peoples views, we all want to help
each other get along.
Please read the 'manual' for the CRX-UK forum:
Welcome
to the CRX-UK mailing list. Please take the time to
read
these simple guidelines on how to use this forum.
The list is for CRXs so please, no non-CRX threads, i.e. no
virus
warnings, no jokes, no advertising, no spam, you get the idea.
Certain questions are always popular, like "what brand
of
tyre/oil/brakes do people recommend?" or "anyone
know where I can get
new hatch struts?" and it can get tiring having to answer
them month
after month, so before posting it is always a good idea to
check if
your question has already been answered in one of these forums,
please make sure that you have checked the crx-uk archives
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/crx-uk/messages)
using the search
function if required.
Many questions can be answered from this source, if you can't
find an
answer don't forget to mention you have tried to find it here
first,
you will find you get a much better response if people think
you have
put effort into finding the answer rather than just banging
off an
email.
When asking for information about a particular vehicle, please
make
sure you add which vehicle it is for to your post.
The mailing list is quite busy so please avoid "me too"
posts, these
are posts where a reply doesn't add anything to the debate
(if your
answer is of interest to only the original poster send it
to them not
the list), remember each time you post it could generate over
400
emails.
If you are replying to a post, please trim away the old parts
of the
thread so we don't get mails several screens long. This is
particularly relevant if you are replying to the digest. Please
trim
the reply so that it only contains the question you are replying
to.
Please make sure the subject line makes sense, if you are
changing
the subject then change the "Subject line".
Before replying to a message why not check that someone hasn't
already replied and said what you are about to (I try to read
all my
CRX-UK mail before replying to individual posts). If
someone sends
you a personal message (i.e. not to the list) it is bad manners
to
reply to the main list and include their personal message
without
asking.
While it is sometimes very tempting to reply to a heated thread
remember doing so only continues to propagate it, if you ignore
it is
more likely to end.
Please observe net etiquette (if you don't know what this
means then
you can read Oxford University's guide
(http://www.ox.ac.uk/it/rules/etiquette.html).
These means no TYPING
IN CAPS amongst other things. Messages written in standard
english
and can be understood are also far more likely to be answered.
The CRX-UK forum is usually un-moderated - this means
you are free to
post whatever you wish provided you do not break any of the
following
rules. The forum moderators reserve the right to delete postings
and
take action against offenders that they believe break any
of the
forum rules. of the posting.
You should avoid using swear words, especially in the topic
headings -
if possible use asterisks to avoid offending other forum users.
ANY
POSTINGS WHICH ARE DIRECT ATTACKS ON OTHER FORUM USERS (E.G.
FLAMES),
OR ANY POSTINGS WHICH ARE RACIST, SEXIST, CONTAIN SPAM, OR
ARE
DESIGNED TO OFFEND WILL BE DELETED AND THE POSTER MAY HAVE
ACCESS
RIGHTS WITHDRAWN. IN EXTREME CASES A FORMAL COMPLAINT WILL
BE LODGED
WITH THE POSTER'S ISP.
Any violation (or repeated violation) of these rules will
result in
your removal from the forum - in all situations the decision
of the
forum moderators is final.
The owner/moderators of this group reserves the right to modify
or
remove your account without providing you with any notice
and without
specifying any reason for their action.
It is now standard practice for the first few forum posts
of new
users to be moderated. This means that your post(s) will not
appear
straight away and will only appear once a forum moderator
has checked
the content of your post and deemed it suitable. The moderators
of
this group reserve the right to choose whether or not any
future
posts are moderated, or not.
If at any time you feel that any message posted by anyone
on these
forums breaks any of the forum rules you should email one
of the
forum moderators as soon as possible (.
Moderators:
Adam McQueen (Group Owner)
Paul Beasley
Paul Goodwin
Scott Fowler
If you are a new member, a short introduction message to the
group
(who you are, what you drive or your interest in the group,
where you
heard of the group from etc) would be good, but not necessary.

is still available for people wanting to check old posts,
